Birth of Rocks

Andover Rocks was born from an idea I had whilst sitting on a bench one autumnal September Monday morning after doing the school run in 2016 - sounds crazy right?

I was working for Andover Mind at the time and had noticed there was no music therapy available. After being unwell for numerous years with postnatal depression and using music as a huge part of my recovery I saw this as a chance to really make a difference.

After that morning the idea evolved into what is now a 3 day 2 night festival that supports our local venues and numerous local artists of varying genres. Part of the festival that is growing rapidly is the use of holistic therapies based around sound and a wide variety of workshops for all ages.

An ethos of Rocks is that everyone on the team has or has had a mental health diagnosis, this is something the whole team is passionate about.

The Rocks team is expanding year by year just as the festival is growing in diversity and gaining more and more support, none of this would be possible without the support of local venues who come together to make this community event happen, artists and performers kindly donating their time and of course our festival goers.

The projects we have set up and supported over the years have been incredible, please have a read on the projects page

If you haven't already been to a rocks event we look forward to welcoming you soon, if you've already been we look forward to welcoming you back

'In a world where you can be anything, be kind'

Much love

Marie and the Andover Rocks team.
